Jamu Juice: A Healing Beverage.

During my honeymoon in Bali, Indonesia I fell in love with a traditional Indonesian Juice called Jamu. Every morning Perry and I would go for breakfast and there was always a cold Jamu Juice with shot glasses ready to be consumed. I think the thing that originally got me so interested in this juice ( I have never been into juice) was because it was made from Ginger and Turmeric.

Hi again friends! Hope your week has been splendid so far! Monday’s are always the hardest  for me and its beat, so no complaining here. I teach my yoga class late on Mondays which means I don’t get home until I am passed the starving point. This is not good for me or for Perry as I am usually pretty “hangry” and that never ends well.

Pumpkin Chili.

img_0268Happy November! Can you believe it..I honest can’t! October just flew by so fast and I’m not sure how i feel about it. I know I’m going to miss the pumpkin everything that’s for sure. ;)So with that being said,  yesterday being the last day of October we ate pumpkin.. and lots of it! We woke up that morning to have pumpkin Pancakes with a pumpkin latte, followed by a pumpkin yogurt parfait for an afternoon snack and if that wasn’t enough pumpkin, we had my a delicious Pumpkin Chili for dinner!

 

The Chili ended up being so easy and yummy that i wanted to share the recipe! I mean you don’t need October as an excuse to eat Chili. 🙂

I find this Chili is very similar to your typical Chili but has a tad bit of sweetness and intoxicating fall tastes and smells with that added cinnamon ! Pumpkin is also super high in vitamin A, it lowers blood pressure can boost your vision. It has been known to help people sleep better! Win. Win.

Taco Cups.

The other day I made these cute little Taco Cups . I mean, how adorbs are they!  We have tacos often, so it is fun to switch it up a bit and eat them in another way! These cups are basically layers of crunchy shell,  grass feed organic seasoned beef,  organic tomatoes, and warm melted cheese all in one or two perfect bite.

The outside of the cup has a nice crunch and  the inside is soft and melty! Is your mouth salivating yet?

What you need:

  •  one pound of ground beef – browned and drained.
  • 1 packet of taco seasoning…I use the seasoning straight from the kits but you can buy them individually
  • 1 small can of diced tomatoes
  • Cheese
  • Green Onions
  • Fresh Tomatoes
  • Cilantro
  • Wonton Wrappers
  • Muffin baking sheet 

How to make:

  • Cook ground beef until browned and drain.
  • Add in taco seasoning and can of tomatoes
  • Stir it all up to combine. – set aside
  • Line each muffin tin cup with a wonton wrapper
  • Top with 1-2 tablespoons of the taco mixture…
  • And cheese to your preference.
  • Bake at 375 degrees F for 12 minutes, until heated through and edges are golden.
  • Top with sour cream, fresh tomatoes, green onions and cilantro

Friday is here can I get a little cheer! YAY!!! I’ll imagine you guys are cheering with me because let’s be honest, unless you work Saturday, Friday is worth celebrating!

I have mentioned my go-to morning drink a couple of times on my blog, with the promise of a recipe.

Artichoke Dip

Hello! Happy hump day!

Last Friday, I spoke about this killer dip that I always bring to every party I go to. Not only is it incredibly easy and fast, it  also only has a few ingredients and like 3 steps which makes me love it even more! The best part of this dip, is that I get some serious compliments everywhere I bring it and there is usually no left overs at the end of the night which is a successful dish in my books!
