Playlist. 5: Mantras.

I  realize it’s been quite a while since I shared any of my playlist with you guys.

I like to share the actual songs I am  are currently listening to as it switches up all the time! Lately I have been loving starting my day off listening to a few good mantras. I don’t even know the language to most of them,  but it helps me to approach the day with confidence, anticipation and just feeling happier.

Starting A Family..

Well it was a hot minute there, but I am back and have some exciting news! ( as you can tell from the headline) We are officially starting our family!!!.. Yup, 19 weeks as we speak and so far so good.

The First Trimester was pretty easy for me besides a few weeks of nausea, feeling exhausted and having some serious back aches but other than that, it has flown by!

Second Trimester has also been really easy ( comparatively). I still have major back aches, but this seems to get better if I can fit in some sort of yoga during the day or at least a bit of stretching. I am so tired still.. but I also work long hours and teach yoga on top of that, so I may be pushing it a bit too much. The issue is I am not the type of person to just relax.. so it is what it is.

My biggest cravings so far have been an everything bagel toasted with herb and Garlic cream cheese, a kale Ceaser salad ( which I will do a post on) and green apples. The Green apples are probably the weirdest thing because before I got pregnant I didn’t even like them.

My Hormones took it really hard in the first trimester and Perry actually felt like I was getting depressed. I wasn’t.. It was just that there was so much happening and knowing your life is going to change forever  was is scary. Plus that fact that I was am so tired didn’t help!

As of last week, I  bought my first pair of maternity pants, and  I don’t think I love them as much as I thought I would… Yes I love the stretchy waist band.. but its the fact that they go so high up on the belly that feels so weird to me… I think once I get bigger they might start to feel better.

Another note, we bought a house! It took us over a year to sell our condo and only a few months to find a house that  felt like home. We don’t get possession for a month, so in the mean time we are living at Perry’s dads house which has been nice to have a break from the responsibility of living on your own.

My bump has slowly have progressively gotten bigger, I think I have popped.. but im not sure..

Being a soon to be mom is defiantly scary!! If you have had baby’s and have any advice for me I would love to hear it!?

Lots of Love.

Moving into Grace – Radiant + Health + Beauty

I took a Kundalini workshop  a few months ago that was called moving into your grace. It was specifically for women finding there own radiance which was uplifting and very informational! At the end of the course I left with  nutritional health and healing tips that can easily be integrated into your day to day routine and are also really easy, so I wanted to share a few of them!

Organic Beauty

Hello! Happy Hump Day!

I wanted to talk to you about one of my favorite organic make up brands that I discovered and am obsessed with! If you have been following the blog for while now, you know that I was trying to find an organic makeup brand that didn’t have a weird consistency or lasted for all of 10 minutes.

If you think about it, our skin is a  living organism, in fact its the largest organism on our body! It breathes, interacts and absorbs  from everything it encounters. Not to mention that  whatever we put on to our skin is absorbed into the bloodstream… so to say the least, I knew toxic skin care products had to go which led me on my search.

Happy Monday All!

Hope you had a great weekend! Monday is once again here and I have been dreading Monday’s lately especially with how cold it has been. This tends to make my Sundays  bittersweet. I still have the day off which is fantastic, but the thought of Monday starts lingering around by the afternoon.

What I have found to help combat the Sunday blues is basically a  day of self-care/  prep. I find doing this makes me feel more prepared and less anxious about Monday!

Here are main things I always like to do on my  Sunday evenings:

Coconut and Castro Oil Hair MaskEvery Sunday, I like to make sure to later my hair in these oils and I will leave it for about 30 minutes ( longer if you have time). I find that it not only makes my hair super soft and shiny but it also makes my hair smell so nice!

Exfoliate + face mask. Sundays are the only days I really have to spend some extra time and focus on my skin. I exfoliate then follow-up with a face mask or masks, I usually do this at the same time as my hair mask and shower it all off together. I Exfoliate using a AHA cleanser  and the mask I have been using lately is this one.

Dry brush + oil. This happens every other day, but If I’m in the mood I’ll take a relaxing bath and add in some body oil. I  like to dry brush my body before I go into the tub or shower and follow-up with  moisturizer on top of the body oil. It’s super dry so the layers of moisturizer is  very much needed. I love this dry brush and this is the oil I use.

Wash sheets. There isn’t anything better than clean sheets; In fact it is one of our favorite feelings! So I love starting the week with fresh washed sheets, it helps us look forward to getting into bed even with Monday on the other side.

Prep smoothies. I like to put all of my smoothie ingredients in my cup and blend it in the morning with some coconut water. This makes the morning much faster!

Clean out my purse. I do a quick clean of my bag and toss anything that I don’t need. I also  like to organize my gym bag and work bag so I am as organized as possible on Monday.

Then I like to just chill and relax, maybe watch some Netflix, read, hang out with Perry  and just enjoy my last few hours of my weekend.

How do you get ready for Monday? I would love to hear about it in the comments.

Jamu Juice: A Healing Beverage.

During my honeymoon in Bali, Indonesia I fell in love with a traditional Indonesian Juice called Jamu. Every morning Perry and I would go for breakfast and there was always a cold Jamu Juice with shot glasses ready to be consumed. I think the thing that originally got me so interested in this juice ( I have never been into juice) was because it was made from Ginger and Turmeric.
